"I was surprised to see all of the negative comments about the book by Jake Brown "Dust n Bones...bla bla" Believe me, had I known how it was to come out in the end I would never have granted the interview...there's just no way to determine what the guy was going to do at the time...I tried as best I could to be careful and the guy promised me that it would be a quality product and would not be any kind of tabloid gossip type of publication...I was concerned about how Izzy would react as well, and tried very hard not to address any personal topics or to put the author in a position to slam him in any way. I was assured many times that this was going to be a book that was going to be accurate and informative and as I know Izzy would never put anything out there himself, I believed that it would have been a great source of information for his true fans around the world. Alas, this appears to not be the case and it would seem as though it was just another moneymaking opportunity and another example of shloc journalism. You can be sure I will be more careful and not make the same mistake in the future...and I'm sorry that the thing was so disappointing to the real fans. Its a shame really because it could have been really cool had it been done right.
However, in all fairness I haven't yet read the book myself...I'm waiting right now for my copy to arrive (I had to buy my own copy from Amazon...which says a lot about the publisher in itself) so I'll try and reserve any further comments I have until after I've read it for myself...but for now I trust you guys' opinions, for if there's anyone who knows it would definitely be you guys...

VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum has denied reports that the band has broken up following the announcent that they had scrapped the final five shows of their ongoing European tour.
The trek began June 3 in Germany and was scheduled to run through July 10, but will now close July 2 at the London edition of the Live 8 benefit, according to Billboard.com.
A spokesperson told the Associated Press the route was being changed to accommodate ''family obligations'' and ''pre-production work'' on the group's sophomore RCA album. She added that oft-troubled frontman Scott Weiland ''is not back on drugs.''
In an e-mail sent to Sp1at.com, Sorum said of the cancellation, "We did knock a week off the end [of the tour]. Everyone is tired. We never planned on touring Europe more than five weeks but management and the agents kept adding dates and before we know it, it was up to seven weeks and after completing an eight-week run in the States with only a three-day break, we need a real break. So that's the story, other than that all is good, just need a break and some rest."

Rock supergroup Velvet Revolver Velvet Revolver will cut short its overseas tour and the June 7th announcement left many wondering if the band's future was in jeopardy.
Only the last five dates on the lengthy tour were canceled but some media outlets made it sound like the end of the band was at hand. The affected concerts were to take place in Montreux and Zurich, Switzerland; Reykjavik, Iceland; Bergen, Norway; and Turku, Finland.
Maybe the night-owl band members just don't like the almost endless summer days at northern latitudes.
A newspaper and television station in Finland reported that the band had split, but Velvet Revolver spokeswoman Kristine Ashton-Magnuson disputed those reports.
"The band has not broken up," she said. "In fact, they're coming back to the U.S. early to start the next record."
She cited "family obligations" and album "pre-production work" as reasons for the plug being pulled early. She didn't elaborate on the nature of the family matters or the band's recording schedule.
The band, which features former members of Guns N' Roses and the Stone Temple Pilots, launched its European tour on June 3 in Germany, and will perform shows through July 2, including an appearance at the Live 8 charity event in London.
The band has been dogged throughout the tour by talk of ego disputes between singer Scott Weiland and lead guitarist Slash, and rock critics have been running pools on how long Weiland could stay drug-free. (Way to be supportive, folks).
Ashton-Magnuson denied that Weiland was heading back to rehab. "Scott is not back on drugs," she said.
Velvet Revolver's August headlining dates and Ozzfest appearances remain on track.
